Delivery bottleneck feared for LNG
Over the coming years, Shell is expecting an increasing demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG). In the middle of the 20´s, delivery bottlenecks will occur if steps for new production facilities are not taken soon as mentioned in the LNG forecast 2018 of the group. The trade with LNG has grown from 100 million tons in 2000 to almost 300 million tons last year. The largest import countries are Japan, China and South Korea, but interest in liquefied gas is also growing in Europe. In Germany, Brunsbüttel and Wilhelmshaven are endeavouring to be the location of the first LNG terminal on the coast.
