Nico Conti from Mantua in Italy is a HGV driver. He primarily transports steel and plastics for Fiat and Maserati, is a great fan of Juventus Turin and has just had his trailer filled. With LNG in Piacenza.
Nico has been driving his LNG operated Iveco Stralis for a year now, and he is very satisfied with the modern fuel. “My HGV is a lot quieter now and I find it a good thing that LNG pollutes the environment a lot less than my former diesel HGV.” Only 70 to 80 heavy goods vehicles fill their tanks in Piacenza, sometimes five to six vehicles are waiting their turn. In North Italy, LNG is already a complete success – it is not a matter of fact that in the mean time, the tank with a volume of 60,000 litres has to be filled every day (!). The LNG filling station in Piacenza, a city in North Italy about 100 kilometres south-east of Milan, is one of the 20 that will soon be in Italy.
Already chosen LNG at an early stage
This was installed by the company Vanzetti. The family owned company in the Piemont has established itself as global market leader in the construction of pump skids for cryogenic industrial gases and LNG. Andrea De Bernardi, HEROSE representative for Italy: “Vanzetti builds all components between the tank and fuel pump of an LNG and CNG filling station.“ HEROSE has been supplying driven fittings, safety valves and non-return valves to Vanzetti for years.
On-site visit in Cavallerleone. The company was founded here in 1985. Originally being a manufacturer of cryogenic pumps for air gases, they had already made the decision for LNG ten years ago. All of this entrepreneurial vision has paid-off: with 40 employees today Vanzetti produces about 100 pump skids each year, and diverse fuel pumps come on top of that. The demand for LNG filling stations will increase in the future. Good prospects for Vanzetti – Great prospects for HEROSE. Andrea De Bernardi: “Our turnover has increased by a factor of 30 with Vanzetti alone over the past years.”
